Nephrotic Syndrome is featured by massive proteinuria, hypoproteinemia,
hyperlipemia and swelling. As a mass of protein loses in urine along with
gastrointestinal dysfunction which can cause insufficient protein intake, the
patients' resistibility is very weak. Therefore, the patients are susceptible to
have infections in many body parts. If the infections can not controlled
effectively and spread, it can cause damage and even threaten their life.
Therefore, it is very important for the patients with Nephrotic Syndrome to
control infections. The following will introduce some measures for preventing
infections in Nephrotic Syndrome.
※ The patients with Nephrotic Syndrome should get enough protein from their
daily diet. When their renal function is normal, the patients should keep high
protein intake and increase the proportion of quality protein like egg whites,
lean meat, fish etc in the total amount of protein intake.
※ The patients with Nephrotic Syndrome should avoid catching a cold and
overwork as well as had better not go to the public places. They should also pay
more attention to their oral hygiene and gargle with alkaline mouthwash to avoid
stomatitis. If they are accompanied by swelling, they are very likely to have
skin infections for skin injury. Therefore, they should protect their skin well
and avoid trauma. Once infections occur, they should use antibiotic therapy. If
the chronic infections like tonsillitis reoccur frequently, they should
eradicate the disease after the illness condition becomes stable.
※ The patients with Nephrotic Syndrome should improve their autoimmunity.
They should take proper exercise like walking, jogging, taichi etc. Moreover,
they also can use some medications which can improve immunity to decrease
frequent infections.
If you are a Nephrotic Syndrome and tormented by the frequent infections, you
can describe your illness condition below. We will replay you as early as
possible.
