Renal Insufficiency is a result of the development of various chronic kidney
disease. Renal Insufficiency patients usually have symptom of anemia. Why can
Renal Insufficiency patients suffer anemia? Here are some factors causing this
condition as follows:
1. When the kidney is injured, the secretion of erythropoietin(EPO) is
reduced, which declines hematopoietic function of bone marrow. EPO is generated
by kidney and when it enters into marrow by blood circulation, it can regulate
the generation of red blood cell. For Renal Insufficiency patients, they can not
produce enough EPO. Consequently, they often suffer anemia.
2. Damaged Red blood cell increases: damaged kidney can not well discharge
excess water or waste products and those internal toxins accumulate in body,
which restrains hematopoietic function of bone marrow and causes damage to red
blood cell such as shortening red blood cell's life, autolysis. Consequently, it
leads to anemia.
3. Red blood cell is lost with urine when the renal filtration barrier is
damaged .When patients take Dialysis, residual blood cell can aggravate
anemia.
4. Hyperparathyroidism can antagonize EPO, inhibit the generation of red
blood cell, increase red blood cell fragility and shorten red blood cell's
life.
In addition, Renal Insufficiency patients often have symptoms of anorexia,
vomiting. It reduces the intake of iron, folacin and protein, which are the
substances of hematopoiesis.
The extent of renal anemia is consistent with the damaged kidney of Renal
Insufficiency. Woman often have anemia because of their period. But for female
if there are no factors causing blood loss such as recessive blood loss, when
they have anemia, it may be a symptom of renal anemia. Moreover, when a female
have anemia and the symptoms of edema on eyelids, anepithymia, vomiting, itch,
etc.
,they should go to the hospital to check whether it is a renal anemia and
take positive treatment timely.
