The Common Clinical Symptoms of Glomerulonephritis

Glomerulonephritis is a very common disease which has very high recurrence rate in the world. If patients know more knowledge about Glomerulonephritis's symptoms, they can recover the disease early and adopt the scientific treatment as soon as possible.

The followings are the common clinical symptoms of Glomerulonephritis:

1. Proteinuria: Almost all Patients with Acute Nephritis will present proteinuria, which shows more foam in urine. Compare with other symptoms, this symptom disappear very slowly. After swelling disappear, this symptom still can present for 1-2 month, even long time.

2. Other symptoms: patients present fatigue,backpain, pollakisurie etc. Some patients present prodrome like pharyngalgia,fever, skin ulcer etc.

3. Hypertension: 80% Acute Nephritis patients have high blood pressure, normally the value of blood pressure for adult is 18.7—22.7kPa/12.0—14.7kPa. If blood pressure can’t be lowered, that means kidneys have serious damage, which will increase the risk of occurring Chronic Nephritis.

4. Urine change: 40%-70% patients present gross hematuria which means the color of urine like red tea or soy sauce, after 1-2 weeks, gross hematuria will turn into microscopic haematuria, this symptom will disappear in 6 months or 1-3 years. In the early stage, patients have less urine, even without urine (urine output less than 100 ml all day). If patients without urine for 3 days, that means the illness condition is very serious, meanwhile patients always present Azotemia, that means kidney has damaged seriously. In the recovery stage, the urine output can increase to more than 2000 ml, and renal function can recover gradually.

5. Edema: 70%-90% of the patient present edema as the first symptom, patients with light illness condition present edema in eyelid, patients with serious illness condition will present edema in the whole body. What’s more, some patients will present the symptoms like hydrothorax, ascites etc. Normally, edema will disappear in 2-3 weeks, and then the urine output will increase gradually.
