Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy was applied in 2004 clinically. After many
years’ research, it has been the main measure to treat Nephrotic Syndrome. Next,
I will introduce a typical case from our hospital.
Patients Profile: Male, 28 years old, white-collar. He was diagnosed with
Nephrotic Syndrome in the year of 2008. He sought medical help from many places
without curative effect. Then he went to Shijiazhuang Kidney Hospital in Sep.
2010 and at that time he had severe swelling and other severe complications.
Previous Medical History: with Nephrotic Syndrome for 3 years; proteinuria
+++; albumin 19g/L; 24h urine protein 4.0g/L; relapsing once because of cold
after hormones treatment.
Admission examination: weight 80kg, severe ascites, light pleural effusion,
swelling in gallbladder wall, obvious finger convexity swelling in legs, severe
breathlessness and severe disorder of electrolyte.
Diagnosis of the patient’s illness condition: Nephrotic Syndrome, Severe
hypoproteinemia, systemic swelling; he was sent to emergency room to receive our
treatment; symptoms of hypercoagulability, hyperlipidemia, hypoproteinemia and
so on.
Therapy plan: Give this patient treatment of Micro-Chinese Medicine
Osmotherapy twice a day. Deal with symptomatic therapy with western medicines:
anti-inflammatory, anticoagulation, expanding blood volume, correcting low
levels of protein; subcutaneous injection of low molecular hepacarin once a day;
intravenous infusions of albumin; intravenous infusions of low molecular dextran
and glucose injection; level 1 medical nursing.
Treatment Process:
Four days later, there is an obvious alleviation in patients lower limbs
swelling, but still has no appetite for food.
Seven days later, the severity of swelling varies in his lower limbs and we
think thrombus has formed. The doctors give him increased dose of heparin
calcium and intravenous infusions of urokinase.
Ten days later, the swelling disappears in his lower limbs; his cheeks have
roses; begin to sweat; the quality of sleeping improves; begin to have appetite;
there is a weight loss for 12kg; there is an obvious improvement for ascites and
swelling in other parts.
Fifteen days later, his weight loses from 80kg to 64kg and his condition
becomes steady and he is retreated from intensive care unit.
Three weeks later, his swelling completely disappears and he has a good
sleeping, appetite and mood. The reexamination results: proteinuria +, serum
albumin is twice as high as before, there is an obvious improvement for his
hypoproteinemia; urine volume 1500ml/d; the blood pressure is steady.
Four weeks later, his vital signs are all steady and his illness is under
control. He goes home to have maintenance treatment.
In conclusion, on the basis of dealing with complications using western
medicines, he receives Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy which reaches a
satisfactory result.
