Symptoms of allergic purpura in children

Due to bleeding in the blood vessels, children have bleeding spots (skin rashes) on the skin. Some of rashes are in the form of blister with blood. Rashes are always little higher than skin with different sizes. Furthermore, their color is red, purple or fuchsia.

About one third to two thirds of children have pain and swelling in their joints. Because it affects ankle and knee usually, some children cannot walk or move.

In the minority, children have pain in abdomen, vomit and even Hematochezia or indigitation.

Nearly 30% of children have damage in kidneys. They would have blood in urine, protein in urine or cylindruria which are the symptoms of purpura nephritis. A few children would go to renal failure or uremia due to purpura nephritis.
