Drinking is very common in our daily life. No matter in social activities or
family gathering, drinking is usually inevitable. We can say drinking has become
a kind of culture. Some people like to prevail others so he drink excessively,
which usually arouse many trouble, jeopardize himself and other people. For
patients with Polycystic Kidney Disease (hereinafter called PKD), they must not
take drinking, because drinking can speed up the progress of Renal Fibrosis and
incur more severe influence to his disease.
Long term drinking can arouse anemia, disorder of thrombocyte function and
various bleeding; in addition, it can also result in gastrointestinal absorption
disturbance and malnutrition which can decrease human body’s absorption to
Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2 and folic acid, make more Vitamin B6 expel from human
body; also drinking can cause Hyperlipemia and Atherosclerosis etc. We can
realize drinking can damage the general conditions. The recovery of PKD patients
need a favorable environment, but drinking only play a negative effect.
Moreover, drinking is harmful to kidney, because it can influence nitrogen
balance of human body. More proteins are decomposed under alcohol’s function so
that the content of urea nitrogen in blood get increased, which is probably add
kidneys’ burden. Although the doctor say adequate drinking is beneficial to
health, it’s really hard to grasp the proper extent, so PKD patients should
better keep away from those so-called excitant alcohol.
