Stages of Adult Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD)

Nowadays, the incidence of Kidney Disease is growing rapidly, and it presents a tendency of young group, but the status of people awareness is rather low as to Kidney Disease. Fewer people know Adult Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD). To help people know more about Adult Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD), we make below instructions about its stages and symptoms in different stages.

In the clinical practice, the development of ADPKD can be divided into four stages.

The first stage is called no-symptom stage, because there are no apparent clinical symptoms and manifestations and Polycystic Kidney can only be detected by imaging apparatus.

The second stage mainly features as Hypertension, and this stage presents symptoms like cysts swelling, blood pressure rise, waist pain and abdominal pain etc. The occurrence of Hypertension usually indicates that renal function has been already or is to be damaged.

The third stage is regarded as Renal Insufficiency, which manifests the rise of blood uric nitrogen and serum creatinine. And this term can be further categorized into different stages according to the level of serum creatinine. It is termed as renal insufficiency compensatory stage as the level of serum creatinine stays between 133umol/Land 176umol/L. If serum creatinine rises continuously within 442umol/L, it is called Renal Insufficiency.

The fourth stage is Renal Failure. At this stage, serum creatinine is more than 451umol/L and corresponding symptoms appear with the continuous rise of serum creatinine. If serum creatinine overpasses 707umol/L, patients are in the stage of Uremia.

The above stages are divided as to the generally conditions. The judgment of ADPKD patients should be made according to its specific comprehensive conditions. Due to different symptoms and pathological agent in different stages, different patients may have different medicine prescription or treatment according to their individual condition, even if they suffer from the same disease.

After years of explorations, we developed Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy which can treat PKD through external application and avoid the toxin and side effects of oral drugs. The active ingredients of Micro-Chinese Medicine can dilate blood vessels, promote blood circulation and relieve blood stasis. Combining with common medicines, inflammation, thrombus and immune complex can be removed so that the remaining nephrons can be protected and the progression of Renal Fibrosis can be blocked. Then, patients can live a qualified life, even they suffer from PKD.
