As we all know, Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a type of genetic kidney disease. It has the characteristic of familial aggregation, which means that this disease both male and female may have this disease and the probability for them is equal, and several successive generations can have this disease. If either parent has PKD, their children all have 50 percent of probability to have this disease. If both of the parents have this disease, that will increase to 75 percent.

So I don’t think there is any mother want her baby to inherit this disease, thought it is very painful to have no baby. Besides, pregnancy will induce the attack of this disease or aggravate the patient’s condition.

Therefore, for the sake of the health of baby and you, the women patients of this disease had better not be pregnant. If I were a woman patient of the disease of Polycystic Kidney Disease, maybe I will adopt a orphan or a child in need.
