Many people like summer, because they can eat various nice fruit and cold
drink, and they can go swimming for cool off. While, for the patients with the
disease of Polycystic Kidney Disease, there are many thing needing their
attention, which are very important for the patients to have a healthy summer
life.
First, reasonable diets are of great importance for the patients. Except the
commonly mentioned points: low salt, low protein, low fat and rich in vitamin
and etc, patients with this disease had better not eat cold food and cold drink.
Maybe when you are eating the cold food, it is enjoyable. But the cold food will
stimulate the blood vessels surrounding kidney (for the kidneys are just behind
the stomach) and aggravate the disturbance of blood circulation.
Second, swimming is not good for the patients with Polycystic Kidney Disease.
When people are swimming, there is great pressure on the stomach and abdomen,
which many lead to the burst of the cysts. Besides, sometimes, strenuous
swimming actions may pull the kidney area, which is not good for the
patients.
Third, patients who are accompanied with hypertension should pay more
attention to the blood pressure. In summer, patients with hypertension usually
feel swirl, fullness in the head, choking sensation in chest and lacking in
strength. Sometimes, they may be attacked by cerebral thrombosis and coronary
heart disease. It is very dangerous.
Forth, drink enough water. Because of the high temperature, people will
perspire more sweet. So people need to drink more water to maintain the water
balance of the body.
