We all know that cysts in kidneys of Polycystic Kidney Disease patients keep
enlarging continuously due to the gene problem, which is the main reason of the
aggravation of this disease. Actually, Polycystic Kidney Disease patients
usually do not need Kidney Transplant if the disease can be controlled before
kidneys are totally damaged. However, there are still so many people accepting
this surgical operation. Why, besides the nature aggravation of this disease, it
there any other reasons?
Yes, there is another reason and frankly speaking, this reason is a very
important factor that leads to Kidney Transplant. This factor is the patients
themselves. It was greatly their attitude to this disease that leads to this
consequence. Why I would say like this? We all know this disease can not be
cured completely because it is caused by gene problem. For this reason, most of
the patients give up treatment when they are in the early stage of this disease.
They just wait for Dialysis or Kidney Transplant when their disease aggravates
into Renal Failure Stage. Actually, if this disease can be controlled well in
the early stage before kidney function decline when the cysts are still small,
these cysts may have the possibility of stopping enlarging so that this disease
will not progress further. As a result, patients do not need dialysis or
transplant in the future. Even for some patients who have already in the end
stage of this disease, if their kidneys are not totally damaged, there are still
chance for them to avoid dialysis or Kidney Transplant. But if the disease can
not be controlled before kidneys are totally damaged, Dialysis and Kidney
Transplant are inevitable. There are also some patients who have found a
treatment that may control their disease giving up such treatment just because
they do not know this treatment too much and they want to wait for some proof
that can show the effectiveness of such treatment. They even do not give them a
chance to try though the treatment is natural and safe. Yes, they are right and
their choice is also correct. When we are facing a strange treatment, all of us
would like to wait for some proof and then we will have a try. We can wait for
some evidence or proof patiently, but how about the disease. It is existing in
our body and progressing all the time. It will not stop aggravating even we are
on the waiting for the treatment. So if there is a chance, why we not have a
try.
Of course, this does not mean accept new treatment blindly. We must have a
deep research or a field trip on this treatment and we must be sure that the
treatment will not do harm to our body, and then we can decide whether to accept
such treatment or not. Only if it is effective, no matter it is inside or
outside country, we should have a try. It is our hope for life.
