Most patients really do not know what IgA Glomerulonephritis exactly means.
In their mind, it is just a kind of kidney disease and it would not threaten
their recent condition immediately. However, this disease has some potential
things to hurt people. What will happen if people have IgA
Glomerulonephritis?
What is IgA Glomerulonephritis exactly?
IgA means immunoglobulin A which is one type of antibodies for protecting our
body. But in the people with an abnormal immune system, their IgA may be
released too much for infections, resulting in deposition of this antibody in
the blood vessels or the organs. They will settle in kidney tissues and causes
scarring and inflammation in kidneys, which is the IgA Glomerulonephritis.
This IgA mainly hurt the glomeruli which are the main tissues for filtering
toxic substances and excessive water. In the beginning, people would not have
some obvious symptoms but later they may feel something wrong.
The symptoms of IgA Glomerulonephritis
The symptoms are variable from case to case. Most of them find foamy urine
which means there are many bubbles after urination. And the bubbles would not
disappear immediately. Many of them often ignore this symptom or patients always
think it may be normal for healthy people.
The other symptom is slight swelling eyelids in the morning. It may also
present for normal people if they do not sleep well. So it is not easy for
people to detect.
What will happen if people have IgA Glomerulonephritis?
People may keep unchanged condition for many years and they need regular
tests for monitoring. However, it also develops into kidney failure, resulting
in demand of dialysis or kidney transplant in some cases.
So people are suggested to take effective therapy to treat it in the early
stage in order to avoid the further damage. If they go to the end stage of IgA
Glomerulonephritis, it is very difficult to reverse it. So hope you can get a
treatment as soon as possible.
