Purpura is also called Henoch-Schönlein purpura and it usually occurs in
children. The first symptom is purpura rash in most cases; parents are worried
about the red rashes in their limps and back. What is purpura exactly? Would
their children have life danger due to purpura?
"The purpura rashes presented in my little daughter after our family had a
journey in spring. The red rashes scared me and they spread almost all the skin
in legs. At first I just guessed it was allergy and later I got it was purpura
from our doctor." One child’s father describes the mainly symptoms of purpura in
his little daughter and he really want to know whether it brings dangers for
children.
Purpura is not as simple as a type of rash. It is vasculitis which is caused
by disordered immune system. Due to many different factors, children’s immune
system is not as normal as before. It is possible that the changes in their life
style or diet disrupt the order of immune system. So the immune cells or
antibodies begin to attack the tiny blood and cause bleeding. So patients would
have red rashes, pain in abdomen, swelling or pain in joints or kidney disease.
Among all these complications, patients would have life danger due to the lesion
in abdomen or kidney disease.
Pain in abdomen
When children have pain in abdomen, they would have indigitation. In most
cases, it would not threaten children’s lives. However, if they miss the best
time for treatment or have no effective treatment, it would lead to thanatosis
in intestines and peritonitis which are fatal for people.
Kidney disease
Kidney disease caused by purpura is called Purpura Nephritis. It is a chronic
disease, so people usually do not attach importance on purpura nephritis. The
traditional treatment can control it but it always reoccurs and becomes worse.
Kidney disease may accompany with children for many years even when they grow
up. Over time, more and more kidney tissues are damaged, which even lead to
renal failure. So parents need to seek effective treatment for children.
