Chronic waist pain which is a common symptom of Kidney Disease should not be
neglected by patients. Especially for patients suffering from Polycystic Kidney Disease, they should pay much more attention on waist pain than others, because
the painful feeling may be caused by urinary tract infection or Kidney Stone
caused by growing cysts, or even renal cell carcinoma can be one of the causes.
Patients who suffer from light pain may feel abdominal swelling and discomfort,
while patients with serious condition may feel seriously painful. Such pain can
be worsened after strenuous exercise. Waist pain may be caused by pressure on
renal parenchyma or renal hilus resulting from growing and increasing cysts.
Sharp pain always refers to complications of Kidney Stone, hematomas or
obstruction caused by renal bleeding, infections and malignant tumor, etc.
Different Polycystic Kidney Disease patients have pain of different degrees,
and mental factors can aggravate waist pain of 40% patients. As for patients who
suffer from waist pain mainly caused by mental factors, they should accept a
systemic treatment, including mental relaxing training and distracting
attention, etc. Presently, psychotherapy has been more researched, because it
can avoid some danger from taking medicine.
